Trader Joe’s I Will Miss Thee
by snuggerson
We will soon be living in the land of $7 milk, so I’ve been spending a lot of time at Trader Joe’s lately (you know, to say goodbye). There’s so much to love. The prices! The packaging! Here are some wonderful products that I’m going to miss terribly…
1. Syrah-Soaked Creamy Toscano Cheese
Holy deliciousness. Just as the label says, “Combines the robust nutty characteristics of aged parmesan with a creamy farmstead cheddar”. Plus wine. This is my favorite cheese ever. Will someone ship this to me on a bi-weekly basis?
2. Tea Tree Tingle Organic Shampoo and Conditioner
It’s thick, it smells wonderful and it’s only $3.99. Also this conversation actually happened:
Aveda Stylist: “I can tell you’ve been using our products!”
Sam: “How?”
Aveda Stylist: “Your hair is in great shape”
Sam: “Thanks!”
Aveda Stylist: “Plus the smell is a giveaway” –winky face–
Sam: –smirk–
Sam’s Wallet: “Score!”
3. Snacks!! (So many snacks!!)
I mean, almonds AND chocolate AND sea salt AND sugar.
They’re MINI for heaven’s sake.
Honorable mention:
Trader Joe’s Baked Cheese Crunchies – like Cheetos, but baked (33% less fat!).
4. Mascarpone
There’s nothing special about it, other than the price (about $2 cheaper than I’ve been able to find it anywhere else). And, well, I use it pretty often for this.
5. Actually, All TJ Dairy Products
Trader Joe’s has the most affordable dairy products. I buy all of our Greek yogurt, cheese, frozen pizzas (that counts as dairy, right?) and ice cream (try Coffee Bean Blast) there.
Other Trader Joe’s bargains include: whole wheat penne, butternut squash ravioli, frozen fruit and veggies, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, granola and WINE.
